- Strengthen collaborative frameworks among neurologists, obstetricians and gynaecologists to improve patient outcomes through timely, coordinated management of complex perinatal neurological presentations.
- Deepen their understanding of the neurobiological effects of pregnancy-related hormonal and physiological changes, and how these influence the onset, course, and management of neurological disorders.
- Identify, assess, and manage common neurological conditions encountered during pregnancy, such as epilepsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis, and migraine, with a focus on risk factors, drug safety, and multidisciplinary planning.
- Recognise and appropriately respond to time-sensitive neurological emergencies, including eclampsia, posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES), status epilepticus, and other acute presentations.
- Make informed decisions on the use of neuroimaging modalities—such as MRI, CT, and ultrasound—carefully balancing maternal and foetal safety in accordance with current guidelines.
- Stay abreast of the latest clinical research, recommendations, and consensus statements to refine diagnostic acumen, enhance patient safety, and build confidence in managing neurological conditions during pregnancy.
