Background
The College of Emergency Medicine understands that some Consultants and trainees in Emergency Medicine, particularly in London and the South East, have found it difficult to find sufficient opportunities to carry out scans and log experience as part of their hands-on training for clinicians seeking Emergency Ultrasound Level 1 (Core) competence, and that some others have found it difficult to arrange a formal assessment. Many Ultrasound trainers and trainees have reported that arranging training opportunities and formal assessment can be logistically challenging, resource intensive and time consuming.
With the above in mind, CEM has been happy to approve this Emergency US Level 1 (Core) ‘Finishing School’ – two days of training and assessment – organised by Infomed Research and Training and designed especially for those in most urgent need. In view of the Finishing School being resource intensive, places are being restricted to those who are ready or almost ready to be assessed.
