CPR -
thinking beyond the manual!
A unique one day course on the complexities of
the cardiac arrest and post
resuscitation decision-making process faced by the “hands on clinician”
organised on Wednesday 17th January 2007
at the Hotel Russell, Russell Square, London WC1B 5BE
|
|
Infomed’s first event on CPR attracted almost 100 attendees from a
wide range of specialities, including consultants in
Anaesthesia, Emergency Medicine as well as a number of
Resuscitation Officers. |
|
Please see the graphs below as a summary of how the
first CPR event was evaluated
in regards to
the Level of content and information, Coverage
of the subject and Achievement of objectives
by our delegates and speakers.
Here are the views of some of our delegates
on the day: |
What three things did you like most about the day?
- Good speakers - very approachable,
credible, common sense approach.
- Excellent, interesting and eminent
speakers
- Hearing experts in the field of
resuscitation, emergency technology, basic life support
- A&E, ITU officers speaking and good to
see resuscitation officers, represented
at a resus conference and on the
faculty!
- CD great idea, good to keep
- Variety of lectures, obvious knowledge
and expertise of the speakers, the friendly manner of the organisers
- Interesting topics covered, relevant to
my job, reinforcement of what we teach, evidence of up to date
guidelines
- Well organised, central venue, nice
lunch, good timings - really enjoyed it
- Broad range of presentations, new
knowledge to advance practice
- Good to find out what is happening
elsewhere, good networking, nice venue, good food
What three things
would have made the day
better for you?
- A bigger and more comfortable room
- The technological hitches were a pain,
but
it happens – next time a better projector!
- More interaction and time for questions
and answers
- Would like more information on decision
making in hospital patients prior to arrest
- More on new developments
- Shorter day, more questions and answers,
shorter presentations
- Slightly shorter lecturers, reduced time
allocated for lunch, shorter day, possibly finish by 4.30
- Easier access to coffee and more room
for networking
What impact
will this event have on your future?
- Motivation to
improve clinical practice,
better audit
- Big impact, change
in teaching
- It has renewed my
enthusiasm
|

 |
- Items which may well
prove of benefit have been noted for discussion with
the rest of the team and relevant people on return
to work - useful feedback
- Able to justify
guideline changes by scientific evidence; I will buy
a metronome; audit improvement
- Better understanding
of post-arrest ITU management - what I can do better
- Better information -
how to treat the patient
- Improve certain
areas of my practice
- Help me in teaching
+ practice
- Consolidate my
current knowledge
- Certainly reconsider
some practice
- Better decision
making
