  • To gain an understanding of how ultrasound can assist in the assessment, diagnosis and intervention of patients with MSK injuries.

  • To learn to identify key anatomy and pathologies during lectures (demos on models), with real-life shots (dual screen setup) and video clips from expert MSK physiotherapists and radiologists.

  • To practise hands-on ultrasound examination of each joint in groups under the supervision of experts, on models, at the skills stations.

About the Course:

  • Knowledge and practical skills will be gained by a mixture of lectures and skills stations.

  • Covering pathologies on Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist, Hand, Hip, Knee, Ankle and Foot. Good knowledge of Anatomy is assumed.

  • Interactive, focused lectures, with extensive use of real-life screenshots and video clips: what it looks like in US, with different views of what is normal, what is not normal, what can be managed and what needs to be referred.

  • Practical sessions with live demos with models and, if available, patients.

  • Access to weblink with copies of the lectures and other relevant information to all attendees.

On the Skills Stations:

Hands-on ultrasound work at the Stations, facilitated by the Faculty, with opportunities for attendees to practise on models (and patients if available) using a variety of widely used ultrasound scanning machines.
